Promises For You Today
January 15, 2011

Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

You will find in the Book of Romans from Chapter 12 to chapter 15 direction for your christian life and service that will bring the Glory of God in your life.

We can  go through these but it would take some time...I would suggest that if you have questions concerning what God desires for your life...not what the opinions of others are.  What christians fall into is concerning themselves more with the opinions of others instead of what God has truly given to us through His word.

Chapter 12 of Romans speaks of dedication to the Lord through our life.  The great love and mercy that HE has given to you and I through His death...taking upon Himself the sins of the world.  He sacrificed Himself for our sin...so that we may have a better way than that of the law that was given in the Old Testament.

When we allow Christ in our life we walk in newness of life.  We no longer live as we did before...to ourselves.....we apply His Word to our life in allowing Jesus to change our thoughts, our direction and allowing Him to work and move with in us.
In doing so, we dedicate our life to Him.  By presenting our bodies ...our heart, mind and soul committed to Him.   We allow the Word of God to renew our minds, thus our minds change from distorted thinking into godly thinking.

In our committment and love towards God we no longer present ourselves as the world does. Our speech changes instead of ungodly words...kindness, gentleness, and love speaks through us.  Our appearance: We dress with modesty in not wearing things that would draw wrong attention toward us ...Not wearing things that have the appearance of evil..example  a gothic look, seductive clothing...etc.    You will find that these things will reveal the heart and our thinking.

How does the world present itself?  Romans 1 is very clear...let's talk about this a bit...all through this chapter it is full of direction concerning our walk...our committment...being transformed from the following:

vs 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
vs 30 Backbiter, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boaster, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
vs 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable,  unmerciful;
vs. 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

One thing that is very important that many Christians fall into...they take their eyes off of God and onto each other.
Chapter 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, judgest: for wherein thou art that  judgest:  for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Let's take our eyes off of each other....Let God be God of your life and do not try to place yourself in His seat. There is only One God and He is the judge of all.

For this is what happens...all manner of sin comes through...gossip, backbiting, all mentioned above is found with in this type of heart.

Spend your time focusing on God and reaching for more of His presence in your life, prayer, devotion time, study, and reaching out the lost and dying world...For that is our pupose.

God bless You
